Learning Express -Basic Discovery Exercise:

Setting up an account seemed to be my biggest struggle - too many passwords and usernames to remember.  Once the account was set, Learning Express proved to have a lot of practical application.

2. For the exam section I choose Reading Skills and read about sea otters in the Bering Sea decline in population and  possible causes for the decline.  I enjoyed the article and the test questions were direct and well written.
3. Job searching and resume  writing:  Career Course - Job Search and Networking Skills.  Helpful online search tips were given when searching for a job such as -don't be too general or too specific.  Jobs will be missed by narrowing the field too much.  Watch for "keyword phrases".
A list of common abbreviations for the classified section of the paper was given which would eliminate guess work when searching classifieds.
For people looking for work, Trade publications and Professional Associations also have job opening/listings.
I think if people would use this site it could cut job search time which would be a benefit to them.

4. The search term I typed was Master gardener, which was not a good search term.  59 e-books  popped up, I looked at the LSAT - Logic Games, nothing on gardening, but would be very helpful if I was looking at taking the bar examine.
I did thumb through: How to write great essays.  Again not in my area, but it was interesting.  This title would be a good source for individuals needing more focus on a topic, speech writing and writing in general as well as writing essays for tests.

Chilton/Mango Lesson 2

The Chilton Auto Repair Manuals were easy to maneuver through.
I.
Three things that should be done at 30,000 for a 2007 Volkswagon Jetta were:
1. service/inspect - brake pad thickness and brake system
2. replace the engine oil & filter (should change oil every 5,000 miles)
3. rotate and inspect tires!
My car has hit 70,000 miles so these things have all been done at least twice.
II.
Most recent Technical Service Bulletin/Recall
7/26/2007 issued
Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) Plates, Safety - Certification La..
This was not helpful to me.
III.
Click to repair tab - note some information about brakes for your car.
My car has an Anti-lock braking system and the brakes  have hydraulic components.

MANGO!

Basic Discovery exercise:
1. Read about the language and culture.
I did not find the information on the language or culture.  I did click on a photo which took me to Flickr.  There were many beautiful photos of Sweden.  Then I went back to the FAQ and hit libraries.  That page was specific to how to teach patrons new languages.  It said the course lessons included memory building  exercises and critical thinking.

2. Launch
I enjoyed this lesson 1 of this program.  I felt very successful.  The repetition and breakdown of the conversation make it easy to follow.  I enjoyed  the accent of the Swedish languages and thought the
pronunciation cues were very helpful.  My experience was positive, liked it all.
